For great quality ayurvedic products
Athreya
Athreya means "one who is always ready to help" in Sanskrit and this speaks a lot about this brand. Founded by vaidyas Jayagopal Parla and Anupama Kizhakkeveettil both world-renowned speakers and practitioners with 20+ years of experience. Besides sourcing products, I also often recommend my clients sign up for Athreya's newsletter for their valuable shared wisdom on wellness topics. www.athreyaherbs.com
Banyan Botanicals
One of the first brands introduced to Hridayam Apothecary and a pioneering brand in expanding Ayurveda in America. Banyan is my go-to provider of oils for most massage sessions in my practice and the provider of some of our best products to support wellness. I often recommend my clients to include Banyan's Bronchial Support syrup, Immune Strong extract, Throat Soother spray, and a few other products in their home pharmacy. Banyan is a Certified B corporation. www.banyanbotanicals.com
Pure Indian Foods
A year-round provider of ayurvedic groceries that I'm proud to work with at Hridayam Apothecary. Pure Indian Foods is a great source of high-quality spices and ayurvedic ingredients. Some of my favorite products include saffron, black cardamom, true cinnamon, and Alphonso mango purée. Pure Indian Foods provides multiple ways to include the health benefits of spices and varied flavors in our meals. www.pureindianfoods.com
SVAyurveda / Chandika
A hidden treasure. Chandika's formulations are rooted in the teachings of Vaidya Mishra and although their website and packaging design won't stand out to the eyes, their products are great. This is where I go for certain ingredients, seasoning spice mixes, soma salt, and products containing Ashoka or Moringa herbs. www.chandika.com
TriHealth Ayurveda
Authentic, deeply rooted in knowledge, and precious. TriHealth offers whole food herbal formulations made according to the Vedic Texts and is a great source for thailams (ayurvedic oils), gulikas (tablets containing sophisticated combinations of herbs to address specific health concerns), choornas (powdered blends of herbs), asavas and arishtams (fermented herbal drinks ideal to support the digestive tract). Although their products are not readily available at Hridayam Apothecary, I use some of them in my practice and frequently refer my clients and friends to their websites. https://trihealthayurveda.com
For great quality herbal products
Anima Mundi Herbals
One of the favorite brands at Hridayam Apothecary, Anima Mundi was created by Adriana Ayales, rainforest herbalist, medicine maker, and educator. Anima Mundi provides some of the highest quality plant medicines in the market and ingredients are sourced from small and ethical farms in North, Central, and South America, India, Thailand, and more. I enjoy witnessing their level of commitment to reducing packaging waste and using only eco-friendly materials when shipping to wholesale partners like me. The products deliver their promises and my clients keep coming back for further advice and new alternatives. http://animamundiherbals.com
Herbalist & Alchemist
State-of-the-art herbal extracts and brand of choice at Hridayam Apothecary. David Winston is the herbalist and founder behind the curtains at Herbalist & Alchemist formulating tinctures for over 40 years. Herbalist & Alchemist was the first herbal supplements company to become a Certified B Corporation. www.herbalist-alchemist.com
Mountain Rose Herbs
One of my favorite brands when it comes to doing things with sustainability as a total priority. Mountain Rose Herbs is where I source dried whole flowers, herbs, and hydrosols for my clients at Hridayam Apothecary. I particularly love their blog which is full of valuable information. https://mountainroseherbs.com
